As a thank you, GoDaddy wanted to reward all their small business customers by awarding over $150K in cash and prizes during a two-month Sweepstakes campaign.
GoDaddy planned to allow three different ways for their customers to enter into the Sweepstakes: purchase a product or service from the GoDaddy online store, enter directly through the online form, or mail in an entry form. Over the course of the campaign, three random Sweepstakes drawings would be held to select winners for the wide array of prizes to be won.
To further incentivize Sweepstakes participation, GoDaddy planned to allow daily entries, and people who entered directly through the online form could earn additional entries by sharing the Sweepstakes on Facebook or Twitter.
Contest Factory integrated an easy-to-use Sweepstakes and survey module with GoDaddy’s website via an iFrame. This allowed users who purchased a GoDaddy product to automatically be entered and also allowed users without purchase to easily access the Sweepstakes and survey entry form. After submission of the entry form the thank you page provided users with social share links to easily share the Sweepstakes on Facebook or Twitter. All shares were then logged as additional Sweepstakes entries in Contest Factory’s Viral DNA analytics software, which also connected to GoDaddy’s online store to tally all entries obtained by purchases and integrate them into one entry list from all sources. GoDaddy then used Contest Factory’s automated winner selection features to randomly choose winners of each prize.
The Great GoDaddy Giveaway Sweepstakes was an immense success. Huge numbers of people participated in the promotion, generated over 2 million viral impressions through the use of shares and over $150,000 worth of prizes won, including 3 grand prize winners who each walked away with $10,000 each. Contest Factory handled fulfillment of all cash and other prizes. The survey questions that were answered by users during the entry process provided GoDaddy with valuable insight to their customers.
